Rest In It.

 Newlyweds Levi and Caitlin!

Hey everyone! My blogging abilities have not been very good lately and for that I apologize. I've been overly busy, which is annoying because I always pack things on myself, but today FINALLY... I got the chance to sit down and read and just relax. (I didn't really get the chance... I'm kinda just forcing myself hahaha). Anyways...

The reason why my blog is called "REST IN IT" is because lately I haven't been resting in the facts that are right in front of me... which is the Bible.

Something I've known my whole life is that the Bible holds so much truth, but I never really REST IN IT.

When I finally opened my Bible today... I turned and started out in EPHESIANS 1... As I began reading I just asked God that He would enlighten me and allow me to understand what He is showing me.

This is what He told me...
Ephesians 1: 4-8
"For HE CHOSE us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight. In love He predestined us to be adopted as His sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will- to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the One He loves. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that HE LAVISHED on us with all wisdom and understanding."

The main thing that God really spoke to me through was the fact that he CHOSE me... way before this earth was even created... He knew me... He ALREADY loved me and cared so much for me. This made me think, why am I always searching for acceptance from things of this world... especially people, when the creator of ALL things loved me even though he knew I would fall and make millions upon millions of mistakes that not even those around me know I've made.

The next thing was, that "HE LAVISHED on us"... that word is romantic to me... that He Lavished His love on us..
In the dictionary it says that lavished means: using or giving in great amounts
God has ENDLESS upon ENDLESS amounts of love that He has already shown and given us FREELY, but is still giving it out. We just don't notice it.

This made me realize... How incredibly special I am to the Almighty God of everything... which is CRAZY...
He is SOOO powerful and rules all things, yet He has endless amounts of time and love to give to me... Why in the world do I not do the same to Him. He is just waiting there with open arms to give us the desires of our hearts, but we are too busy being selfish.

I just thought this message was amazing and thrilling... and it did make me want to cry... Yet it's something were told as Christians, is that He loves us... but when you finally realize it for yourself... you have the biggest "AH-HA" moment... He is so wonderful the way He works.

We are so incredibly blessed to be loved by such an amazing SAVIOR. Thank you Lord for your love every single day.

Hope you all are having a wonderful Tuesday! Remember how SPECIAL YOU ARE!!!!

Life Lately.

So sorry blogging world... my life lately has been so hectic that I haven't had a chance to sit down and write about what's been going on... but here we go.

Obessed.

You may be obsessed with coffee if you want this as a poster hanging in your room. Haha. Love!
HAVE A GREAT TUESDAY!!!!!

School Again.

Well it's almost time to head back for school, but before school begins it's time for RECRUITMENT again. I am so pumped about recruitment. I can't wait to see all the new girls coming to State. And I especially can't wait till Bid Day when they are finally welcomed into their new houses! It was so fun for me when I went through and I can't wait to make it as fun for them!

For those of you that don't know what I am talking about... Recruitment is just when girls coming into a college want to be apart of a Sorority (basically a social group- but so much more than that) they go through a week of going to each sorority that the campus your attending offers (for Mississippi State there are 7 sororities) and narrow it down finally to your favorite sorority. Then on bid day, you'll go to the house that you've been invited back to and eventually you'll be a brand new member in that sorority, which is a huge accomplishment.
It doesn't sound like a lot of fun haha, but these past two years at State, my sorority has offered me several chances to become more involved not only in the sorority, but on campus. You also have many functions you can attend (dances and such). It has really changed me into the person I am today, especially with the friends I've met and have grown up with these past two years. I definitely can say I am glad that I went through recruitment and I'm excited for what this next semester (my junior year) holds in store for me in God's plans.

So all of you who are debating on doing a sorority at your college, I think it would be a great thing for you to do, and a great way to get involved and become more social and outgoing!

Sorry for the dramatic blog hahaha. I promise the next one won't be as "emotional" haha.

I hope you all are having a wonderful TUESDAY!!!!

Warmed My Heart.

Such an encouraging video of giving of the love we have from Christ to others who have done so much for us.

Just watched this and I thought I would share. Former President Bush is such a kind warm hearted man and I am so proud to say that he was my President. This just shows the love that Christ has for him, he in return spills out to those around him. We should all be encouraged to do the same.

Love Like Their's.

There is something I've learned as I've grown up these past 21 years. One of them I would have never believed would have been true probably 3-4 years ago... and that is... my parents are actually really cool and are actually really incredibly smart.

Not knowing myself, they have taught me so much. And recently or more in the past year I've really loved hanging out and spending time with them. This makes me happy, but in some ways makes me sad that it took me 21 years to actually come to this realization.

I find myself at this age, calling them, asking them for advice, laughing at their jokes, doing fun things with them, and just wanting to learn from them.

They are some of the coolest inspirational people I know. I do look at them as my elders and those whom I look up to and obey as it says in the Bible, but I also look at them as my dearest and truest of friends that I know will always love me for me.

These past few days I've been quoting them which sounds weird... but some of what I'm about to show you is very enlightening.

I know we all know this, but it is good to be reaffirmed by it:

"Relationships aren't just a give give give relationship or a take take take relationship, it has both giving and taking involved, and it is so important."

"What you don't like in someone else is something you don't like in yourself"

and my absolute favorite... it's actually a quote from Winnie the Pooh, but my dad loves to say it to my mom... and I think it's the cutest thing ever...

"My favorite time of the day is when you and me become we."

LOVE IT.
  Love them so so much.

Something I hope for one day is to have a love like my parents. They love each other through Christ and that is the only way a healthy marriage will ever live. Love Christ. Love others just like He absolutely loved us.

I hope you all are having the best Thursday!!!!

Domestication.

While becoming more domesticated has become one of my new hobbies... as you'll see by these next few pictures... I do miss the occasional just pick up at the store and nibble on food. But the sense of accomplishment has taken toll on me and I can't stop. haha. I guess all will end once I move into the house. Hopefully the boyfriend won't mind me using his kitchen a time or two. I bet he won't if he gets a bite of it. Haha. Well I hope everyone is having a wonderful Wednesday. My Wednesday will consist of homework, laundry, and putting together my things for recruitment 2011! WOo! Go greek. I cannot wait till August 5th.

 Oreo Cookie's. NOMMY.
The finished project definitely didn't look like the picture, but close enough haha.

LOVE IT :) great website!

Acceptance.

Have you ever dreamed to find someone who completely accepts you, for you? Whether that's your best friends, a friend, a family member, or boyfriend, or maybe just someone random off the street. Someone who accepts that we are all flawed, we've all stumbled, and we are all continuously choosing the wrong decisions for ourselves?

I know I have.

I do it everyday whether I would like to admit it or not. I continuously put up walls that protect places where I've messed up and hide what I'm really thinking.

Today in church... I know... this is the last thing you want to read. Ha. But today in church... We discussed John 4:1-42.
If you've never read it, I encourage you to read it. (Read it slowly because what I got out of it today I don't know if I would have ever thought this haha.)

It's about a woman that Jesus met at a well. She was searching for something and didn't even realize it. She was searching for something that our hearts search for everyday... and that's acceptance and satisfaction.

Something my pastor said to the congregation hit hard on me...
I constantly am looking to some kind of acceptance or satisfaction...
Something I never really thought about is... we are already accepted and can find our full satisfaction with someone who wants us dearly (Christ).

God knows everything that has happened in our lives and he knows what else is going to come in our lives. He knows when we will fail and he knows that we will mess up.
Our human flesh is designed to fail so that one day we will realize our real need of Christ.

So... this is one thing I am going to try to live by... not just that Christ died for me and so I should spread the word... but also...

that I am:
COMPLETELY known about and dearly LOVED by God -- so that I don't have to go looking for acceptance or satisfaction from anyone or anything.

He is the only person that I don't have to cover up my flaws, I don't have to hide myself and my fears, because He already knows them and has loved me anyways and begs that I come to Him... so I don't have to search for my acceptance any longer. All my satisfaction comes from Him. Now I just need to stop searching and start really living.

I hope you all are having a wonderful Sunday afternoon, whether in sunshine or rain. Everything is a blessing in disguise.

vegas vegas vegas.

Oh what can I say about Vegas... I can honestly it will be a one time experience for me. It was so much fun to hang out with some of my best girlfriends, but all I can say is Las Vegas, Nevada is another world. No offense to those who love Vegas... but I just don't see how people can live there. I sure am thankful to live in the south. It is definitely where I belong. Haha. As promised here are some pictures from VEGAS. But I do have to say... it wasn't so bad that we basically got everything free... hahaha. Love those promoters.

 TIFFANYS :)

WELL. That's the end. I hope y'all enjoyed my pictures from Vegas. :) I hope you all are having a wonderful THURSDAY. Tomorrow is FRIDAY woooooo.
